We want your child to be comfortable. Let us know if you feel your 5 year old would be happier in the preschool group, or if your older 5th grader would fare better with the youth. You absolutely can opt for your child to stay in the level that is best suited for them.

For Parents of Preschoolers:f your child might need to have a stroller during the time they are in the care of the pre-school team, please leave a stroller with them and have it marked with your name.

The children will be swimming at Hotel del Lago on Saturday afternoon. Please send them in their swim suits, with a change of clothes, towel and sunscreen! The children’s ministry team along with other adult volunteers will be watching the children during swim time. This year we have changed the schedule so the children’s swim time does not conflict with any adult activities so parents that would prefer to be with their children during swim time will not miss any activities.

For Parents of Youth (6th – 12th grade): We will be signing youth in during check in. Please stop by the table to sign needed permissions and get needed instructions from the team.

The youth have their activities this year at the Porta hotel in the casita near the parking area. We ask that all youth meet in the lobby and walk with the team to and from sessions. If your youth can return to his room unaccompanied after returning to the hotel please sign the permission slip at check in so that the team will know that no one will be coming to pick up your child.

Drop off and pick up for youth activities is the hotel lobby.

ALL YOUTH ACTIVITIES END AT 9:30. At 9:30 your youth MKs will return to the hotel lobby and can be picked up or can return to their room. The youth will be swimming at the Porta on Saturday afternoon, so remind them to bring their swim suits, and sunscreen!

Please remind your children and youth that they need to be QUIET after 10:00 pm!!

Please remind your youth that snacks and drinks are provided in their meeting area so they can take advantage of these options, and to please return to their rooms when they return to the hotel after sessions.
Counseling Services +
As missionaries we all deal with a high stress level on any given day. Some studies suggest that most missionaries live constantly over the dangerous stress level indicators. And another huge factor is we find ourselves with no one to talk to about these stressors. That is why it is so exciting that Ken Brumley, Lee Poe and Zach and Ashley Dickson will be with us this year.

Make sure to take advantage of their services at conference if you have a need. The counseling this weekend is for individuals or couples. Please come by and sign up for a time slot on the counselor’s door of your choice. You may just put your initials or some fictitious name to save your spot.

    Ken Brumley (Room 321)
Ken Brumley is the Pastor of GraceWorks Counseling Ministry in Tyler, Texas. Working under the auspices of Green Acres Baptist Church. Ken has been with Green Acres for the past 35 years. His responsibilities include marriage counseling, grief and trauma recovery, individual hurts, habits and hang ups and pre and post marital divorce issues. Ken has been a part of Intermissions for over 17 years. He has been married to his wonderful wife Judy for 45 years and they have 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren.

    Lee Poe (Room 221)
Lee has served as pastor or staff member in churches for more than 30 years and has been with Green Acres Baptist Church for over a decade. He is a licensed professional counselor in Texas and works in the GraceWorks Counseling Ministry. He grew up in Mesquite, Texas and has been married to his high school sweetheart, Becky, for over 40 years. They have two married daughters.

Zach and Ashley Dickson (Room 409)
Zach and Ashley Dickson established Hopetown Counseling in 2017. Hopetown is a non-profit Christian ministry that provides trusted, professional counseling. Hopetown also provides training for churches that are interested in becoming better equipped to care for their members better. Hopetown is also passionate about equipping ministry leaders to care for themselves better, in order to avoid burnout, and so they can minister to their fullest potential.
Zach and Ashley have been married since 2010 and currently live in the Upstate of South Carolina. They have a precious little girl, Everly, and baby boy, Dax. They also are responsible for their Labrador Retriever, “Bo Bo.”
Community Book Swap Tables +
As we have done for several years, we will have tables set up at conference outside of the main conference room, where you can bring those books and materials that you no longer use so others can be blessed. What can you bring?
  • books
  • teaching CDs
  • DVD/Videos
  • Homeschool/Educational
  • board games

  • Please only “family appropriate” materials and no clothes or medicines

Guidelines for those bringing items to share:

    1. Bring the resources that you would like to give away to the designated tables outside the main conference room on Friday afternoon or evening.
    2. Take whatever you would like from what other missionaries are sharing.
    3. On Sunday morning, before lunch, come by and collect whatever of your resources that remain.
